The New Year is a wonderful way to remind us
of the opportunity we have for a brand new beginning, a fresh
new start. Have you really thought about this? Yesterday is
gone. Today is a new day. New adventures are waiting for you in
2008. New adventures that will begin as you forget about what
was in the past and focus on what is in your future. The future
includes today.
Philippians 3:12 - 14 NLT I don't mean to
say that I have already achieved these things or that I have
already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day
when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and
wants me to be. No, dear friends, I am still not all I should
be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing;
Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I
strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for
which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.
You can only start where you are, right now,
today. Jesus wants to give you a fresh new start. He is your
source for life, so stay connected to Him today. Bow your heart
before the Lord and acknowledge your total dependency upon Him.
He promises to give you the direction you are seeking.
Proverbs 3:6 Seek His will in all you do
and he will direct your paths.
Seek His will first. Call to Him in prayer,
and then trust that He will direct your path. Don't put off
until tomorrow what you can do today. Make that secret
appointment with Him today. He’s waiting for you right now. He
wants to hear your voice calling His name today. God has good
plans for you!
Jeremiah 29:11-14 NLT "For I know the
plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good
and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those
days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in
earnest, you will find me when you seek me. I will be found by
you," says the Lord. "I will end your captivity and restore your
fortunes...
You can only start right where you are today.
Start the New Year off right. The Lord is waiting to hear your
voice call to Him in prayer so that He can give you the
direction that you are seeking.
Be blessed as you begin a new journey into
2008.
Be encouraged because 2008 is going to be
great!

Isaiah 9:6 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and
the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of
Peace."
We all have things in our life that we wish were different.
There are some things that we do have the power to change while
others are totally out of our control.
Personally, I would love to have all of my children with me this
Christmas Season. I have 5 children, 2 of which are in the
military. Because of duty stations and deployments the last time
that I have had all my children with me was at Christmas time 7
years ago. Separation is common for military families. Because
of God's grace, He gives me the peace and comfort that I need.
He is my Wonderful Counselor. He is my Mighty God. He is my
Everlasting Father. He is my Prince of Peace. I so look forward
to the day when I can see all of my children and their families
together with me. I know that day will someday come. Until then,
I will receive everything that I need from my Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.
My husband served in the military, and our teenage boys at home
both plan on joining the military when they are of age. I could
easily become depressed by this fact, but instead, I am proud to
be a mother of those who are willing to serve our country. My
sons are doing what they want to be doing, and my husband and I
are so proud of them. We fully support their efforts. I
have determined that I will not focus on what I do not have and
miss out on what I do have.
You have things in your life that could bring you to tears.
Everyday is a gift. Every Christmas Season is a gift that only
comes around once. You will never be able to celebrate Christmas
2007 again. It is my prayer for you that you make the most of
your today. I pray that your heart and mind receive all that the
Lord has prepared for you through our Savior Jesus Christ. May
your Christmas Season be filled with family and friends as you
make new memories and reminisce about the past. Be thankful for
all that you have and do not allow your mind to wander into
things that could bring you down.
Philippians 4:4-9 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it
again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be
evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not
be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends
all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in
Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true,
whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever
is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or
praiseworthy—think about such things.
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen
in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with
you.
Receive the gift of peace and contentment during this beautiful
Christ filled Season.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his
one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish
but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
This scripture is a very popular scripture; many people quote
verse 16, let’s read on.
John 3:17-18 “For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever
believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe
stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name
of God's one and only Son.”
Are you struggling with condemnation because of your
past mistakes? Are you condemning yourself for choices
that you made in the past?
Romans 8:1-2 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through
Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the
law of sin and death.”
In order to be in Christ Jesus, you must believe who He is and
what He has done for you. If you are in Christ Jesus, you are
actively pursuing the things of God. If you are in sin, ask for
forgiveness. If you are actively pursuing God, believe that you
are forgiven. You can do nothing about the past; actually, the
past has no power to affect your present unless you give it
permission to by thinking about it. I once heard a quote that
stuck with me:
If you don’t like something, change it.
If you can’t change it, don’t worry about it.
Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us
free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened
again by a yoke of slavery.”
God desires for you to be free to be all that He created you to
be. Give Him everything about you, you past, your present and
your future.
You are special! Jesus loves you!

Are you struggling with the pressure of circumstances? Is fear
gripping at your heart and mind? Fear will cause you to remain
under pressure, overwhelming your heart, draining you of joy and
strength.
2Timothy 1:7 “For God did not give us a spirit of
timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning
fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and
of calm and well-balance mind and discipline and self-control.”
Declare this very moment; “I have a sound mind! I am not timid
or cowardly! God has given me the power I need to overcome this!
I can stay calm and balanced! I am able to control myself,
because God has enabled me to make the right choices!”
God alone can bring you to this place of change, but ONLY you
can surrender ALL to Him. You’ve got to give it ALL up to Him.
You can’t handle things. You may be in a mess. You cannot do
this by yourself. You’ve got to release this situation over
to God alone. God will take your messy stuff, the stuff that you
can’t handle, even your own mistakes. The blood of Jesus has the
power to cover the entire situation. You must first give it ALL
up to Him. He’s not going to cover something you keep hanging on
to, trying to justify, or defend, or blame others for while you
try to fix it.
1Peter 5:7 “Casting the whole of your care [all your
anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for
all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about
you watchfully.”
As you surrender ALL to Him. He will give you the strength and
the ability to rise above. To not slip, fall, or fail!
Psalms 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the
weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the
[consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or
fail).”
Get into the Word of God, and let the Word of God get into You!
Victory is waiting for you in Jesus name!
