 Psalm 40:1 “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.”


As you wait for the Lord patiently without complaining or giving up, He will turn towards you. 
 
Psalm 40:2 “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

Mire is sludge or mud.  Can you imagine your feet stuck in mire, the more you try to get out, the more you can’t?  You’re stuck!  You need help!  God will lift you out of your mess and bring you to a place of stability. 
 
Psalm 40:3 “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.”

A new song of joy and peace as you trust in God alone.  You are blessed when you trust in the Lord. 

Psalm 40:4 “Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.”

This Psalm was written in a time when many false Gods were worshiped.  Today we still have false Gods.  An Idol is anything or anyone who takes your attention off of God.

Psalm 40:5 “Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.”

His goodness in your life is so incredible.  I pray you stop right now and begin to thank God for the many things He has done for you and your family.  Once you begin to focus on all the good you’ll find yourself remembering many wonderful things.

God is waiting for you to comprehend His faithful love! 

Isaiah 30:18 NLT  But the Lord still waits for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for him to help them.”

 Psalm 19:14 “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

Are you aware of the power of your thinking and how much it affects your attitude, the words of your mouth and the choices you make? If your thoughts are negative, they will breed discontentment.  If your thoughts are positive they will breed faith.  A thought is the beginning of an action.  Your first reaction to a thought is either to think about it or to disregard it; once you give it a second thought you begin to meditate on it.  Once you meditate on it, you begin to expound on it, setting it into action which will encourage you to believe it to be true.  Even thou it may not be true; you can actually believe it as truth because it has become alive in your mind.  Have you not noticed that what you believe as truth, you talk about?  

Matthew 15:18 “But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, ...”

Your thoughts effect you in a negative way or in a positive way because you will eventually believe what you are thinking, and you will act on what you believe. 

Romans 12:2 “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind …”

I encourage you today, to get into the Word of God, the Bible, and ask God to show you a Word from His Word. As you search through the scriptures you will find great things to think about. And as you continue to search on a daily basis, you will grow in faith and confidence in God. God’s Word is truth and it can completely change your thinking.

John 17:17 “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”

When you change your thinking, you have the potential to change everything about you.  You will become confident that God is taking care of everything that concerns you. Your attitude will be positive and your faith in God will grow. You will notice the change in yourself and so will the people you come in contact with. What a great joy it is to be around people who are trusting in the Lord!

Be encouraged as you renew your thinking to line up with God’s Word!

Psalm 68:19
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. KJV  

If you had a job that offers benefits, wouldn’t you want to know about them? Once you knew the benefits that were available, would you not use them? Of course you would! For example, if part of your benefit package was dental insurance, when you went to the dentist you would take advantage of that benefit and apply it to your situation.

Psalm 103:2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-

Every morning you have available for you the benefit of new mercies. This benefit is so valuable because we each have a daily need for God’s mercy in order to be successful in this life.

Lamentations 3:22-23
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

It is true that morning is a time for wakening up, but also you wake up when you come to your senses. Mistakes can wear you down, making you feel weak and burdened. It is time to wake up and receive the benefit of God’s mercy. The alarm is sounding, Jesus loves you and He knew the only way to keep you on track was to offer you the benefit of forgiveness. Be not deceived... it is time to wake up!

1 John 1:8-9 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Begin again! Come before the Lord your God to reverence Him for who He is and for what He has planned for you.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

 James 1: 3 - 4 “because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Is everything going your way?  Do you become frustrated when things don’t go your way?  Let’s face it; when things don’t go your way, you can become so focused on what you want that you can actually loose sight of the work that God wants to do in you.

Romans 5:3 - 5 “… but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”

This struggle you are facing may actually be purposed by God for a reason.  So when things are not going your way and your faith is being tested, it is the time that your endurance has a chance to grow so you can become strong in character.

I remember several years ago, going places with all 5 of my children, I would notice people just watching us. I’ve heard comments like, “You have so much patience.” And I would think to myself, “Are you kidding? Patience is not something I have; patience is something I MUST CHOOSE to do.  Patience IS an action word.”

You see, it is in the times of being uncomfortable having no control over situations or the choices being made by the people around you, that patience has an opportunity to develop you.

The good news is; God knows all about your situation, so rest in Him.  Keep His Word close to your heart at ALL times. God loves you!

 Psalms 28:7 “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”


How comforting to know, the creator of the universe genuinely cares about everything that concerns YOU!!!
