Your brain is the most important organ that you have! It directs your entire body for physical function. We have no control over the way it directs our body and causes all the involuntary organs to function in our body. However we do have control over our thinking.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Our mind continues to grow, and it is up to us to stimulate its growth.

1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

Whatever we spend our time thinking about will effect who we are.

Proverbs 23:7 KJV As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

How often do you really pay attention to what you are spending your time thinking about? I encourage you to take inventory of your thoughts today, and determine the effects they have on the choices you are making, as well as the feelings you are experiencing. See if you can prevent any and every thought from running its course through your mind without you being aware of its impact.

2 Corinthians 10:5 ...take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

God gave us the power of choice. We each have a free will and God will allow us to spend our time thinking about whatever we choose. Choose to think on good things that will benefit you as well as those around you.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

Be encouraged with peace!

Psalm 62:5-6 “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”

When your expectations are on the Lord, you will be less likely to put expectations on those around you. I have found when I put unrealistic expectations on others or even on myself, I am the one to experience the let down or become discouraged and disappointed. When I put all my expectations on God alone I am expectantly waiting on Him, He never leaves me disappointed. I must say there are many times that I don’t get my own way, well actually most of the time I don‘t get my own way. Actually, the truth is; the more that I trust in God, wanting my own way become less important to me. God gives me the confidence to know that everything is going to work out just as He has planned.

Psalms 62:7-8 “My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah”

It is in those times when you do not understand what is going on, that you need to pour your heart out before God. It is good to be honest with Him, He already knows what you are experiencing. After you have poured your heart out before Him, be sure to give Him equal time to pour His heart out before you by opening His Word and allowing Him to speak to you. When you give Him equal time, I promise that you will see that He is your refuge.

Psalms 63:1 “O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, …”

Be encouraged as you enjoy living by faith!

John 16:13 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.”

He will guide you into All truth! He will not lie to you or lead you astray. He will not manipulate you in any way, nor does He have any ulterior motives. He only wants what’s best for you.

Have you ever been lead by a tour guide? A guide is someone who knows the way as he leads you in the right direction, supervising your tour. He is very informative as has shows you the way with his personal knowledge, supplying detailed information and is very willing to answer any questions you may have. This guide will be with you throughout the entire tour from start to finish. He is always in the lead directing you in the correct way. You would never think of telling the guide which way to go, instead you stay close to him, careful to follow his directions.

John 16:13 “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.”

The Holy Spirit is your guide, He will not force Himself on you, nor will He control you. He is always with you, He will never leave you alone or turn His back on you. He has already gone ahead of you, He walks beside you, and He even stays behind to complete that which He has started through you. He is bigger then your mistakes, and somehow has the ability to make good out of any situation when you allow Him to continue to be your guide. He is all powerful, all knowing, all kind, gentle, caring, He is a wonderful counselor, and full of perfect peace. He will comfort you when you need comforted. He will drive away all fear, uncertainty and hopelessness. He is hope. He is peace. He is strength. He is a very present help in times of need. He is faithful. He is trustworthy. He is everything you will ever need. He knows all, He sees all and He has a plan for all circumstances. He will turn your sorrow into Joy! He will change devastation to victory. He is the perfect guide and He makes no mistakes. His love for you is a powerful force, strong enough to hold this universe in place, yet at the same time gentle enough to create and nurture the tiniest forms of life. He is gentle enough to cradle your brokenness until you receive peace and healing.

John 16:13 “.... he will guide you into all truth. …”

His guidance is in the form of a still gentle nudging, so be sure to pay close attention to your guide, He will guide you into all truth. He will guide you to your ultimate destination: You are Heaven bound to Glory Town.

Be encouraged by All Truth!

James 1:2-5 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers (sisters), whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

Could you imagine how much more at ease you would be if you would gladly accept challenges as an assignment from God to develop character? Please know that I am not talking about tragedy, I am talking about challenges. You know, when things do not go your way and you are faced with the opportunity to become discouraged? There are times that I do not feel that I am capable of enduring some of the challenges that come my way and I think that God must know something about me that I do not know. He sure must have some great expectations of me so I must remind myself of:

Psalm 118:6 “The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

At this point, I know I can trust in Him. So I begin to change my prayer request from: "God, please change this situation!" To; "Lord, now what do I do?

Proverbs 3:6 “in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

You can trust in the Lord, He loves you with a pure love. A love that has no ulterior motive, a love that is not at all manipulating. He has your best interest in mind. His love is a pure, perfect love. A love that you can rest in regardless of the life challenges that come your way. Always remember that nothing takes your Father God by surprise.

Luke 1:37 “For nothing is impossible with God."

May the Lord’s blessings be upon you.

 Sincerely,

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 “There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to rebuild. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to lose. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak up. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.”

Life is full of ups and downs. Life is always changing. Some changes are exciting and some are disappointing. Never the less we cannot escape change. Some changes may be filled with opportunity for dissatisfaction, and if you continue to meditate on your own personal dissatisfaction you will have opened up opportunity for discouragement. Discouragement breeds complacency. Please do not allow yourself to become comfortable with complacency.

Deuteronomy 1:6 “The Lord said, ... You have dwelt long enough at this mountain..."

Get up! It is time to move on! We have much to do! It is time to say, "My crisis is over!" Gird yourself with truth and faith. Act on your God given potential. Strive to be all God has created you to be. Give God the opportunity to show you how awesome He has created you. Be careful not to look to others to motivate you all the time. Begin to allow your faith to stir you into action as you meditate on the truth of where your help comes from.

Psalms 121:2 -3 “My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth! He will not let you stumble and fall; the one who watches over you will not sleep.”

Will you give God the opportunity to amaze you with His faithfulness? Will you dare to act on that dream? Will you dare to stand up today and begin to do what God is prompting you to do? Will you trust Him enough to begin a new walk today by shaking off all disappointments and begin to walk fresh and new today? Will you say, "My crisis is over! Healing is mine!"

Psalms 90:17 “And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.”

I encourage you to open up your availability by taking your mind off of yesterday, and begin to walk into a new and fresh today!

Be encouraged!

 Rose Britner
